8R     - Tom, KC0W will be active as 8R1/KC0W from  Guyana from  10 May to 8
         June. He will operate CW only  on  40-10 metres, and  put "a strong
         emphasis"  on  working  Japan.   QSL  via  KC0W (direct  only)  and
         logsearch on Club Log. He does not use LoTW.
9H     - Mek, SQ3RX will be active  again  as  9H3SQ  from Malta (EU-023) on
         15-24 May.  He will  operate mainly  CW with  some SSB and RTTY  on
         40-10 metres.  QSL via Club Log's OQRS and  LoTW, or via home  call

CN     - Bernhard, OE9SBD will  be active  as CN2SB (QSL via home call) from
         near Marrakech, Morocco on 4-16 May.  He will operate  CW on 20 and
         10 metres.  Active from Agadir will be Andy, DL3YM on 5-12 May;  he
         will operate CW only as CN2YM (QSL via home call) on  a  spare time
         basis.
D2     - The  IOTA DXpedition  to  Tigres Island (AF-108) [425DXN 1348]  has
         been rescheduled for late 2017, owing to  circumstances beyond  the
         team's control - "namely the Angolan  licensing  authority (INACOM)
         completely changing the way you have to apply for a license, making
         it more difficult than ever before.  The license paperwork has been
         received and accepted, however  no  license  has  yet been issued".

DL     - Look for Walter, DL3LBP to  be active  as  DL3LBP/p from  Helgoland
         Island (EU-127) on  14-21 May.  QSL via DL3LBP  (direct or bureau),

DL     - ON4MW, ON6OM,  ON6ZV and  ON7EG  will  be  active  as  DL/OO6P  and
         DL/ON4IPA  from  Fehmarn Island (EU-128)  on 17-23 June.  They will
         operate SSB,  RTTY,  PSK31 and  PSK63 with  two  stations.  QSL via

HA     - Istvan, HA0KA and several others operators will be active as HG0WFF
         from the  Protected Area of Lazberc (HAFF-0028)  on 10-12 May,  and
         from the Aggtelek National Park (HAFF-0001) on 12-14 May. They will
         operate CW, SSB and digital modes  on  the  HF bands.  QSL via Club

HC     - HC2AO, R4WAA, RZ3FW will be active as HD2RRC/4 from  Salango Island
         (SA-033), and as HD2RRC/p from Puna Island (SA-034) between  21 and
         30 May.  They will be QRV mainly  on 40, 30 and 20 metres.  QSL via

HR     - John, AD8J will return to Dunbar Rock near Guanaja Island (NA-057),
         Honduras on 13-27 May and be active  holiday style as AD8J/HR9.  He
         operates mainly CW, and this  trip  "will have more operation on 80
         and an attempt at 160m". QSL via LoTW or direct to home call.
JA     - Look for JI5RPT/1 and JI5USJ/1  to be  active  from  Shikine Island
         (AS-008) on 20-21 May. They will operate CW, RTTY and PSK31 on  the

OJ0    - ON5TQ, ON6QO, ON2KMJ and ON8VP will be active  as  OJ0V from Market
         Reef (EU-053) on  1-6 July.  They will operate CW and  SSB  on 80-6
         metres.  QSL via  ON5TC, direct or bureau;  logsearch on  Club Log.

RI1F   - The RI1F DXpedition team is now  expected to  leave  Murmansk on 27
         September, and to reach Victoriya Island [425DXN 1351] after  three
         or four days, depending on  sea  conditions. R9LR plans to take VHF
         EME equipment with him for tropo  and  moon  operation, as  the 4-6
         October timeframe  "should be good for it".  Logsearch  on Club Log
         has been activated (search for RI1F/EU-190). This island is  a "new
         one" for IOTA (EU-190), but DXCC wise is part of  Franz Josef Land.

SM     - Olof, G0CKV  will  be  active  as  SM5CKV/p  from  Harstena  Island
         (EU-177) from 25 July to 5 August, including  participation in  the

SV     - Once again Laci, HA0HW will be active as SW8WW from Thassos  Island
         (EU-174) from 24 May to 11 June, possibly including an entry in the
         CQ WW WPX CW Contest.  He will operate mainly CW, with some SSB and
         RTTY/PSK, on 40-6 metres. QSL  via  Club Log's  OQRS, or  via HA0HW

T8     - Akira JH0CKF as T88MZ (QSL via Club log's OQRS, LoTW, eQSL or  home
         call),  Kunio JA8VE as T8VE (QSL via home call)  and  Kay JJ0RIK as
         T8KA (QSL via home call) will be active from  Koror (OC-009), Palau
         on 12-19 May.  They will operate  CW and SSB on 80-10 metres.  [TNX

TR     - Roland, F8EN will be active as TR8CR from  Gabon from  18 May  to 3
         June. He will operate CW only on 30  and 20 metres.  QSL via F6AJA;

V3     - Mike, VO1OK will be active as  V31OK  from Belize  on 5-14 May.  He
         will  start  5 May  from  Belize City, and then  will move  to Caye
         Caulker (NA-073) on 10-14 May. QSL via home call and LoTW. [TNX The

V6     - Hid JA3KGF (V63GF),  Tosy JA3FGJ (V63GJ),  Sanny JJ3CIG (V63SS) and
         Mami JP3AYQ (V63YL) are planning to be  active  as V6J from  Mwokil
         Island (OC-226), Micronesia.  The ship is due to depart Pohnpei  in
         late June, actual dates will be given  as soon as known.  They will
         operate CW,  SSB,  RTTY,  PSK and  JT65  on  40, 30, 20, 17 and  15
         metres. While on Pohnpei (OC-010) they will be using their personal
         V6 callsigns.  QSL  V6J via JP3AYQ (direct only, or  via Club Log's

W      - Twelve operators from the NASA Wallops Amateur  Radio Club, will be
         active  from Tangier Island (NA-083) on  13 May from  15 to 20 UTC.

XW     - Champ, E21EIC will be active  as  XW1IC from  Laos on 8-10 May.  He
         will concentrate on working RTTY  on 20, 17 and 15 metres.  QSL via

YJ     - Geoff, ZL3GA will be  active  again as  YJ0GA from  Efate (OC-035),
         Vanuatu on 6-13 July.  He will operate  holiday style, but  "with a
         real effort to look  for  western Europe  around local sunrise  and
         sunset on  20 and 30m".  He will also "do more  RTTY this time (and
         JT65 if condx really  get bad!)".  QSL via Club Log's OQRS, LoTW or

ZA     - Alfredo, IK7JWX and his  friends (I0SNY, I8LWL and IK8GQY)  will be
         active as ZA/IK7JWX from Sazan Island (EU-169) for 6-8 days between
         10 and 20 June.  They will operate SSB and digital modes  on the HF
         bands with a couple of stations. QSL via IK7JWX (direct or bureau);
         logsearch  and  OQRS  on  Club Log.   Updates  will  be  posted  to

PACIFIC TOUR ---> F1TCV, F6BCW, F6DTZ and others  will  be active  as  TX5EG
between early June and early September as follows:
11-19 June             King George Islands (OC-131), French Polynesia
29 June-17 July        Huahine (OC-067), French Polynesia
29 July-6 August       Marquesas Islands (OC-027)
15 August-5 September  Moorea (OC-046), French Polynesia
They expect to spend 65% of the time on CW, 25% on SSB and the remaining 10%
on RTTY/PSK, and to be QRV on 80-12 metres with two stations. QSL via F6BCW,

3Y0Z: BOUVET 2018 ---> The 3Y0Z DXpedition team has added a propagation page
to their website: http://www.bouvetdx.org/propagation/. It displays a series
of videos showing propagation predictions during their  anticipated  stay on
Bouvet  Island (January-February 2018).  The predictions were created  using
the work  of Stu, K6TU, and  are  based on  the  National Oceanographic  and
Atmospheric Administration's estimate of average sunspot numbers for January
of 2018.

CLUB LOG'S MOST WANTED LIST ---> The latest  Most Wanted List, generated  on
1  May  is  available  at   https://secure.clublog.org/mostwanted.php.   The
information is derived  from   QSOs  uploaded  to  Club  Log  (currently 427
million log entries available for analysis) and, to  improve  quality,  only
QSOs that have QSLs confirmed are  considered to be worked.  The most wanted
charts are rebuilt once per month, on average.

QSL GALLERY ---> The large collection of QSL cards  on  Les  Nouvelles  DX's
web site has been updated. Fifteen different galleries include 14,671  cards
for the ten Most  Wanted  DXCC  Entities  (2004-16),  the  64  deleted  DXCC
Entities, obsolete prefixes,  stations  from  Maghreb  from  1945  to  1962,
Allied Forces stations in Germany (1945-70), special stations  commemorating
ITU and IARU, Antarctic bases and TAAF (Terres  Australes  and  Antarctiques
Francaises), the various French DXCC island Entities in the  Pacific  Ocean,
the Indian Ocean and the Americas (from 1945 to 1970),  pre-1945  countries,
French Departments and CONUS, plus a  gallery  for  cards  not  accepted  by

SG3TXF/1 ---> Nigel, G3TXF attended  the  SSA Annual Meeting on  Faro Island
(EU-020); on 29 and 30 April he made a  few  hundred  CW QSOs  operating  as
SG3TXF/1   from  the   SL1FRO   club station.   QSL  via  Club  Log's  OQRS:

YASME FOUNDATION GRANTS ---> On 1 May the  Board  of Directors of the  Yasme
Foundation  announced  several  grants  in  furtherance of  Yasme's goal  of
encouraging youth  participation  in amateur radio and operating activities.
* Three grants have been made  to support  the attendance  of two Ethiopian,
  two Tunisian and two Kosovar  amateur  radio  operators  at the  2017 YOTA
  conference (www.ham-yota.com) that will take place next August in England.
* The Board has  also  made  a  grant  to  Kevin Richardson (G0PEK)  and his
  daughter Lauren (M6HLR) for  the  purchase  of  ADRF and  HF, VHF and  UHF
  portable radio equipment in support of their activities to encourage youth
  involvement in amateur radio in the United Kingdom.
* Earlier this year the Board made a grant  to facilitate  the attendance of
  Dr. Tamitha  Skov  at  this year's  Dayton Hamvention  Contest  University
  (www.contestunviversity.com)  session.  A   Research   Scientist   at  The
  Aerospace Corporation in Los Angeles, Dr. Skov is one of the Professors at
  the 2017 CTU and  her  talk  is  entitled  "The Wonderful  World  of Space

YASME FOUNDATION NEWS ---> At its annual meeting held at  the  International
DX Convention in Visalia, the  Board  of  Directors of  The Yasme Foundation
elected  the following  directors and officers:  Ward Silver N0AX (President
and Director), Ken Claerbout K4ZW (Vice-President and Director),  Rusty Epps
W6OAT (Treasurer and Director),  Kip Edwards W6SZN (Secretary and Director),
Hans Blondeel Timmerman PB2T,  Martti Laine OH2BH,  Fred Laun  K3ZO and  Bob
Vallio W6RGG (Directors). The Board welcomed Ken Claerbout, K4ZW, as the new
Vice-President and expressed  its  appreciation to  Fred Laun, K3ZO, for his
many years of  service to Yasme as Vice-President and for his willingness to
remain on the Board as a Director.
