Mark Twain The Buffalo Connection
ARRL staff will be operating as W1T from November 28 - December 4, in honor of Mark Twain's 181st birthday.
The highlight of the week will be a special event station on
the grounds of the Mark Twain House and Museum on November 30, Twain's
actual birthday. Activites from the Mark Twain House will be from 1400 -
2100 UTC.
November 30 will be the only day W1T will be active from the
Mark Twain House and Museum; all other W1T operations will take place in
the Hartford, Connecticut area, but not at the House and Museum.
Born in Missouri in 1835, Samuel Clemens, later known as Mark
Twain, lived in Hartford from 1874 - 1891. He wrote many of his classic
works while in Hartford, including The Advenures of Tom Sawyer, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court.
Operations will be on all bands and modes, including
satellites. Staffers will be operating during non-work hours or during
lunch breaks.
A special QSL card will be available for the event. All QSOs will be uploaded to Logbook of The World.
