From ZS1HF comes the following update on Marion Island:
I revealed that David ZS1BCE would be going to ZS8 in April this year for a one year work assignment. I am still waiting for his appointment to be confirmed.
In the mean time, I can reveal that Carson ZR6CWI has been appointed as the Space Weather Engineer at Marion Island from April 2013 to May 2014. Carson has just completed a one year work assignment at the SANAE Antarctic Base and will be arriving back in Cape Town on 19 Feb 2013.
He informed me today that he will be active from Marion Island over this period.
No call sign has been allocated yet.
His QSL Manager will be Pierre ZS1HF / ZS8M.
